Each weekday uses the same start, end, and break. Calculating one row first makes the weekly multiplication easy to verify.
One row equals eight worked hours
09:00 to 17:30 is 8:30 gross. Subtracting a 0:30 break leaves 8:00 worked, or 480 minutes. The shift does not cross midnight, so the next-day option remains off.
Five rows make 40:00 worked
Five gross durations total 42:30. Five breaks total 2:30. Subtracting them gives 40:00 worked, and 2,400 minutes divided by 60 gives 40.00 decimal hours.
Compare rows with the source record
If one day ended early or had a different break, edit that row rather than changing the weekly total by hand. The example demonstrates arithmetic only; it does not decide paid breaks, overtime, or payroll rounding.
